Abstract

Besides obtaining, maintaining, storing and giving into use materials from its bookstore for scientific-research purposes, obtaining and processing manuscripts and other works in the field of Islamic science and related branches, collecting, processing and storing material from life and cultural history of the Muslims of Bosnia and Herzegovina, The Gazi Husrev-bey's Library has the task of scientifically arranging the manuscript material and scientifically handling certain issues in the field of Islamic science, especially if it is related to the past and life of the Muslims of Bosnia and Herzegovina. An important aspect of accomplishing this task is the scientific and professional processing and publishing of the Catalog of Manuscript Materials. Already with the first volume of the Catalog, the library has established many new connections with related institutions in the country and abroad and has sparked a great scientific interest in the ranks of Orientalists. The other, already prepared for the press, Catalog of precious handwritten materials is the new success of the Library. "Anali Gazi Husrev-bey's Library" present next step of our library to accomplish her task.
